The Conundrum

Neither a bullet fired from the most powerful gun nor the thrust of the sharpest blade

Could induce any fear in him as he courageously called a spade nothing but a spade

But it was the possibility of her rejection that posed for him the greatest dilemma

An unfulfilled life’s unmitigated anathema
