Similar to a thief repeatedly breaking into the same house, before being unfailingly caught by the cops, dipping into memories is an unforgiving and frustrating experience. Every time you smuggle into the past, treasures diminish in quantity, and at times in quality. Age is the natural enemy of memory. But a very necessary enemy. Without this uncompromising law enforcement officer, there wouldn’t be meaning to memory.
