13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff

On the night of September 11, 2012, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the dastardly attack on the Twin Towers, a frenzied mob of insurgents laid siege to the United States State Department Special Mission Compound in the incendiary city of Benghazi in Libya. The US Ambassador for Libya, J.Christopher Stevens was trapped in the Compound, rendered absolutely helpless. A nearby CIA station staffed by 6 men who were contracted soldiers installed to protect the cover of secret agents heeded the call of distress sent by the Mission Compound.

Mark “Oz” Geist, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, John “Tig” Tiegen, Jack Silva, Dave “D.B” Benton and Tyrone “Rone” Woods, although massively overwhelmed by the sheer number of their opponents stood their ground, held their own and journeyed beyond their call of duty to protect and preserve American lives that was imperiled by the invasion of the infiltrators. They held on for an incredible 13 hours staving off multiple attacks and incursions.

Mitchell Zuckoff relives the 13 hours unravelling each hour as it happened thereby setting out to the whole world the daring and courageous deeds of 6 brave an unrelenting men whose heads remained unbowed even under impending doom.
